Patricia & Renier: Miami Beach Wedding Part 1

Patty laid stretched out on the carpet with a blank piece of paper and her wedding dress hanging just above her head. It was the night before her wedding and she was trying to put into words all the wonderful feelings she had for the man she would soon call her husband. She didn’t have trouble coming up with vows she would make to him, she had a hard time consolidating them all so they wouldn’t be too long. Patty and Renier have a love like none I’ve ever seen before. They are true best friends, lovers, soul mates, and co-capitans in life. The energy and passion that radiates from them when their together is palpable.

This wedding was very personal for me to photograph and mean’t a lot to me to be chosen as their photographer. Over the last two years, Patty has become my best friend. She has been there for me through the good, bad, and the ugly, always supporting me and pushing me forward. She is an incredible woman with a heart of gold. She’s not afraid to be herself, stand up for what she believes in, push the boundaries, and break the rules. I love her for that. Renier is her perfect compliment. He’s strong, funny, hard working, and always puts Patty first. I know they will have an amazing marriage full of happy memories. I can’t wait to watch their lives unfold and their love for each other grow even more.

Patty and Renier, you know I love you both very much and I wish you nothing but the best through all your endeavors.

I had a hard time narrowing down my favorites so I broke it up into two posts. Enjoy part 1!

She was clearly excited to be getting married! Even at 5am!

You would never guess this was just after sunrise. Everyone was in such a good mood and full of laughter.

The bridesmaids were super excited for their beautiful handmade jewelry.

Patty’s mom was overcome with emotion after getting her daughter into her wedding dress and presented her two butterfly pins that were given to her on her wedding day.

One for Patty’s dress and one for hers.

Yvonne, Patty’s best friend of 13 years, was also there to help her get ready.

Renier was so anxious and excited to see his soon-to-be wife
Patty decided to a “first-look” with her dad. I think it was a beautiful way for a dad to see his baby girl in her dress.
I can only imagine he’s thinking of how quickly she grew up.
Then it was time for her to see her groom for the first time. These are some of my favorite pictures. I strongly believe in the power of a “first-look.” It’s an intimate moment between the two of you where you can feel free to show your raw emotions and it doesn’t take away from the moment you walk down the aisle either.
This is where I leave you waiting and wanting more. =) Ceremony and portraits coming soon!
