This past week I had the pleasure of traveling to Los Angeles for Adriana and Wayne’s wedding. Since they live on the other side of the country, we squeezed in an engagement session just a few days before the wedding and boy is California good to me. The weather was blissful, the light was amazing, and there were adorable little spots to shoot in everywhere I looked. Add a gorgeous couple who is brimming with excitement for their upcoming wedding, and you have a photographer’s dream.
Adriana and I exchanged many emails and texts prior to my trip out sharing our excitement for the engagement session. I had never met Wayne before and didn’t know what to expect as far as whether he would be into taking pictures or not. I was secretly keeping my fingers crossed, he would be just as excited as Adriana. When we finally met up I was greeted with smiles and big hugs. Adriana was overflowing with excitement as Wayne was calm and collected. As we walked down the streets of Laguna to our first location, Wayne politely looks back and tells me he doesn’t like to take pictures. My heart dropped and I had a mini heart attack. I immediately started to stress that it was going to be difficult to get him interact and capture great photos. Of course, I smiled back and promised it would be fun.
Just two minutes into the shoot, Wayne was smiling from ear to ear and being so sweet to Adriana. He knew this was important to her and wanted to make her happy. As time went on, he even offered posing advice and was continually being adorable. This is when I knew my high school friend had found the man of her dreams. I knew he would always support her and comfort her. I’ve never seen her laugh, smile, and glow as much as I did that day. Of course that was until their wedding day. The wedding pictures will be coming soon, but for now enjoy a few of their beautiful engagement session in Laguna Beach.
