Adriana and Wayne first “met” through an impromptu phone conversation miles away from each other. You see, Adriana lived in Florida, while Wayne lived in California. She was on her way out for a night on the town when her good friend from work, Rob, received a phone call from his buddy back home, Wayne. Rob, being the ladies man he is, said he couldn’t talk as he had three girls in the car on the way to a club. He playfully tossed the phone in the backseat where Adriana picked it up and began to talk to Wayne the whole way there.
Fast forward a month and Wayne made his way out to Florida to visit his buddy and the mystery girl he had spoken to that fateful night. On their first date, they instantly clicked and looked as though they had been together forever. Over the course of a few years they maintained a long distance relationship until one Christmas while Wayne was visiting Adriana, he asked her to move to California. Adriana loved Wayne with all her heart and it didn’t take much to convince her. That weekend she booked a one way ticket to California and shipped all her stuff in 20 flat rate boxes.
Now, on their wedding day, Adriana and Wayne are surrounded by family and friends who couldn’t be happier to see them commit themselves to each other.
The day started at Adriana’s suite at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Redondo Beach. Adriana and her bridesmaids were calmly getting ready while listening to the soft tones of instrumental music.
Yes, that is Adriana doing the bridesmaid’s hair. Everything about the day was personal and handmade.
While they were getting ready, I spotted two blue whales just outside the marina. Usually, there’s only one seen every five years. We immediately decided it was good luck for their wedding day.
Adriana’s younger sister, Olivia, made sure all the girls looked flawless, including herself.
This is one of my favorite moments of the day when the father gets to see his little girl in her wedding dress for the first time.
I made my way over to the boy’s room where they were surprisingly relaxed and ahead of schedule. Wayne couldn’t help but smile from ear to ear.
The ceremony took place at the gorgeous Wayfarers Chapel in Palos Verdes. The chapel is sitting atop a cliff overlooking the ocean and is surrounded by lush greenery and trees.
The best thing about the chapel is that it is primarily all glass and lets in beautiful light.
I loved that right after they’re pronounced husband and wife, Adriana turns to smile back at her mom.
Stay tuned for part 2 tomorrow!
