Awaiting Baby Castellon: Boynton Beach Maternity Session

I truly believe God brings people into your life for a reason and I am so thankful to have the Castellon family as part of my life for the past almost 3 years. Kelsey and Alex are incredibly kind, giving, and warm hearted people. They have always been there for me and my family, no questions asked, whenever I needed them. I’ve truly enjoyed creating a close friendship with them over the past year when we moved just 2 minutes down the street from them. Daniel and Logan have become the best of friends and not a week goes by that Kelsey and I don’t see each other at some point. I’m so glad we were able to share our second pregnancies together just like our first. She was such a great support person for me, especially as my doula at the birth of my daughter, Amelia. I’m so honored to be allowed the opportunity to photograph the birth of their sweet baby and I’m anxiously awaiting for the big day! I adore these photos of them and hope they love them just as much.

Daniel is a little stinker sometimes and likes to give me a hard time. His little smirks and scrunchy faces kill me.

Logan: 2 Year Portraits

Logan is one of the happiest kids I’ve ever met. His mom swears he has a temper on him, but I have yet to see it! Whenever we get together he is always laughing and smiling. I can’t believe it’s been a year since we did his 1 year portraits and how much he’s grown. Logan is SO smart! He had us cracking up with all the things he says and his little imagination while playing with his cars. Liz, you should be so proud of your little man! He’s growing up to be such an awesome little boy and I can’t wait to see where life takes him!

Instead of trying to get super formal shots with a bunch of props, we let Logan be himself, a 2 year old! We ended up in a big field as we were trying to run from the rain and he had a blast playing with grass and chasing his mom. When it began to pour, we headed indoors and let him play with his cars which are his latest obsession. I love that Logan’s parents will be able to look back on these photos and remember how excited he would get over cars and the way he would sit on the floor with his legs splayed out to the sides making his cars race around him.

Our Pinterest attempt at making Logan stay still. He wasn’t having it! Haha

David & Alysia: Robbins Park Maternity Session

Moments after I announced our pregnancy with Baby #2, a Facebook message popped up from college friend, Alysia,  and I knew she was pregnant. She and David had been married for a few years now and I know they both always wanted kids one day so my guess wasn’t something out of the ordinary. Sure enough she was excited to share with me that they were also expecting and planned on announcing that weekend while they were in Disney. Our due dates are just days apart and we’ve been sharing our experiences together throughout the pregnancy. I was so excited and honored when she asked me to photograph them during this precious time in their lives. I hadn’t seen her in quite a few years, but the moment we met at the park, it was like no time had passed at all. We fell into easy conversation and making jokes all throughout the session. Even though I don’t know David that well, I know he is perfect for Alysia. He’s always making her laugh and you can see the love in his eyes when he looks at her.

I have so many favorites from this session, so be prepared for a long post. They told me to let them know if they were being weird or awkward during the session and they were far from it! I mean these two are so photogenic, it made my job easy! I can’t wait to meet Oliver one day and see Aly and David fall into the roles of parenthood. I have no doubt they are going to be amazing parents and Oliver is so blessed to be born into their family.

Jim & Kerri: Atlantic Bay Resort Wedding

Roars of laughter came from the pool as I walked around taking in the beautiful scenery of the quaint Atlantic Bay Resort. Kerri was overlooking the reception details with her hair still wet from the pool and a warm glow on her skin. She welcomed me with a warm smile and let me know she’d head in to shower and get ready in a few. There was a sense of peace and calm washed over her that I don’t normally see on a bride on their wedding day.

As I photographed some of the details, I noticed a man fishing off the shore. He was alone and looked content, just taking in the scenery. I hadn’t met Jim prior to the wedding day and learned later on, that the man I saw fishing was actually him. These two were so laidback and happy throughout their entire wedding day. I couldn’t have asked for an easier couple to work with and photograph. Jim and Kerri were married on the shore with the sun shining down on them and their closest family and friends surrounding them.

Kerri and Jim I wish you guys a lifetime of love and happiness!

Michael & Katelyn: Bamboo Gallery Wedding

There wasn’t a cloud in the sky and a cool breeze rustled through the trees as Katelyn made her way down the aisle with her dad who was beaming with pride. There was a glow around her as she gazed at Michael and a smile crept across her lips. They had seen each other for the first time a few hours earlier, and while that moment was special between just the two of them, you could still feel the excitement and nervous energy as they were about to become husband and wife.

Katelyn and Michael shared their own vows in a tropical paradise, surrounded by their closest family and friends. No detail was overlooked and everything turned out beautifully. Kate often puts others before herself and her wedding day was no different. Her dress was a previously worn dress from Brides Against Breast Cancer where the proceeds went toward breast cancer research. The guests were given their table numbers with a handwritten thank you note attached and she had flip flops by the dance floor for their tired feet. Throughout the whole night, Kate and Mike made sure to mingle with all of their guests and see that they were comfortable and having a good time. I am so happy for them as they embark on this journey. I know God has a lot in store for them and I pray that He continues to bless them.

A huge shout out to Stephanie of Sonju Photography for coming out to second shoot with me.

Venue: Bamboo Gallery in Davie, FL

Katelyn’s sister, Erin, is a super talented make-up and hairstylist and styled Kate’s hair into perfection.

Katelyn read God’s word to calm her nerves and the passage for her wedding couldn’t have been more perfect. God was definitely present that day.

I love Katelyn’s dad and brother’s reaction to seeing her in her dress for the first time.

Thanks to Stephanie for capturing these awesome shots of Michael getting ready with his dad.

The Bamboo Gallery had so many beautiful backdrops for photos. I especially loved this bridge to incorporate into their first look.

I mean seriously, how gorgeous are these two?!

Now let’s talk about the details…..swoon!!

I’m pretty sure they had the most adorable flower girls and ring bearers too.

I love the sheer joy on their faces after they are pronounced husband and wife!

Their reception was definitely a blast and full of surprises. Katelyn and Michael surprised their guests with a choreographed dance that started off slow and sweet and ended up getting the party started! I love that they chose to do La Hora Loca too. It makes for some fun photos!
